Le hockey sur glace fut cr\u00e9\u00e9 au Canada, et c\u2019est pourquoi c\u2019est le sport national ici. Si vous projetez de vous relocaliser au Canada, pr\u00e9parez-vous \u00e0 voir, manger, entendre et parler hockey partout et tout le temps.<\/p>\n

Sport Olympique depuis 1920, le hockey sur glace s\u2019est popularis\u00e9 au fil des ann\u00e9es et est aujourd\u2019hui pratiqu\u00e9 \u00e0 haut niveau dans de nombreux pays.<\/p>\n

Au Canada, chaque grande ville compte plusieurs \u00e9quipes de professionnels et d’amateurs, qui font partie de ligues locales ou nationales selon leur niveau. Les comp\u00e9titions les plus connues sont la Coupe Stanley de la Ligue Nationale de Hockey<\/a> professionnel (LNH), avec 30 \u00e9quipes canadiennes et am\u00e9ricaines; et les Championnats du Monde de hockey sur glace, les meilleurs \u00e9tant le Canada, la Russie, la Su\u00e8de et les \u00c9tats-Unis.<\/p>\n

Les \u00ab\u00a0Canadiens de Montr\u00e9al<\/a>\u00ab\u00a0, surnomm\u00e9s \u00ab\u00a0Habs\u00a0\u00bb, sont la plus ancienne \u00e9quipe encore active aujourd\u2019hui. C\u2019est aussi l\u2019une des meilleures avec 24 Stanley Cups gagn\u00e9es en LNH. Le dernier troph\u00e9e, gagn\u00e9 en 1993, commence \u00e0 dater un peu, au grand dam des partisans qu\u00e9b\u00e9cois, bien connus pour leur loyaut\u00e9 et leur enthousiasme.<\/p>\n

Pendant les Jeux Olympiques de Sochi, les \u00e9quipes canadiennes de hockey masculin et f\u00e9minin ont brill\u00e9, rafaltn toutes les deux l’or dans un doubl\u00e9 historique! La productivit\u00e9 au travail dans tous les secteurs a connu une chute brutale lors de la diffusion de la finale f\u00e9minine et de toutes les demi-finales; et de nombreux Canadiens avaient mis leur r\u00e9veil pour regarder la finale masculine, pourtant diffus\u00e9e entre 4 et 8 heures du matin, selon le fuseau horaire. Les rues \u00e9taient d\u00e9sertes mais les bars et les pubs \u00e9taient pleins; la Ville de Toronto avait m\u00eame publi\u00e9 un d\u00e9cret autorisant les bars \u00e0 ouvrir et \u00e0 servir de la bi\u00e8re d\u00e8s 7 heures du matin un dimanche !<\/p>\n

Vous comprenez mieux maintenant pourquoi le hockey sur glace est le sport national au Canada.
