It’s never easy for a new comer to find a house. I remember that when I moved here, I didn’t have a clue about the situation of real estate in Canada.
The first things you need to know when you want to find a house is to read the adverts. I know it may sound obvious, as in any other country in the world; real estate in Canada is a question of words. I explain myself: don’t judge a book by its cover!

When moving to Canada, one of your first preoccupations is going to be money!..And if you want to keep and save your money, you will need to open a bank account in Canada.

As I already mentioned, Quebec might have different highway rules than the ones of your country.
Some might decide that they don't need a car as public transports are very convenient, but others might need a car for their work, personal life or just because they are used to driving and want to keep this habit.
According to your home country, regulations will apply, and you might be able to get a driver's license exhange.

Finding a place in Canada is not easy, well it’s not that hard but it can take time; until you find the PERFECT place, until you found a place that makes you feel at home.
Once you have visited 127 different places and you are just tired with taking the metro and then the bus to realize that, the landlord forgot to show up...you are almost ready to move in your new place.

When I want to buy something, I’m like a little kid: nothing can stop me; I want it, now, no matter what people tell me.
Of course, when the “thing” is a house, you have to be more careful. There are a few steps to follow before you buy the house you’re looking for.

Housing in Quebec is a bit special. When I say “special” I don’t mean weird or abnormal but it has codes. Coming from Europe, I first had a hard time understanding all the vocabulary of housing in Quebec. Once you know the codes, it gets much easier and you can start looking for a house.

When we move to a new country, there are many things we don’t think about; we think we start a new life; that everything is going to be better and tend to forget some small but important details.
When visiting a house, we all look at the place, and the space, think about new furniture, and were to put the sofa, if the metro station is not too far away and if the area is safe at night; but there’s one thing we should never forget : our allergies.

When it comes to your house, it is better to have a home insurance, unless you want to live dangerously, or go bankrupt..

In Quebec there are a lot of very different accomodations, all in their own kind, in order to offer you a relaxing or more dynamic stay, depending on what you look for. From Montreal's Ritz Carleton to the European sumptuousness of the Hotel de la Montagne, to the grand backcountry resorts, such as the Gite Mont St. Albert in the Parc de la Gaspesie; all these singular accomodations will make your stay very special.
